Vinyl Flooring Supplied & Fitted in Gloucestershire

Vinyl flooring is one of the most resilient types of flooring available on the market. Although it has been around for decades, it has now been fitted with the latest technological advances. Today’s vinyl flooring is now scratch-resistant, wear resistant, easy to maintain and much more durable than before. It also comes in a wide range of designs, colours, materials and sizes. They can easily mimic natural materials like wood, ceramic and stone.

Advantages of Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl can protect against mildew, moisture and mould. It is a particularly smart choice for bathrooms and kitchens which are prone to these elements. It is also cost-effective and easy to maintain. For businesses they are also a “safer” type of flooring for people to walk on, which reduces the possibility of lawsuits. It is also safer for the environment and for health.

Designs of Vinyl Available

Printed vinyl is pressed beneath several layers of urethane for protection. This is one of the more affordable options for consumers. Inlaid vinyl gets its design through the placement of tiny vinyl granules. The granules are the key to providing the floor with strength and durability. The colour also seeps into the material making any scratches harder to detect.

Sheet Vinyl

Sheet vinyl (as the name implies) comes in the format of a single sheet that is rolled out and then custom cut according to the shape of the flooring. If the floor is too large, then additional sheets can be attached seamlessly onto the original sheet.

Solid Vinyl Tile

This tile contains a stylish print coating that is best placed over a smooth surface. This means that placing them over old tiles should be avoided. It is best to add a subfloor when installing solid vinyl.

Luxury Vinyl Tile

This is the most advanced form of vinyl available. The tile is able to mimic natural materials using 3D technology and specifically designed to match the texture.

Choosing the Right Vinyl

When it comes to choosing the best type of vinyl to go with, durability is probably the best measuring stick. Although all are of top quality, the features and cost will be among the factors determining what you will eventually go with. You can generally choose between vinyl no-wax, urethane-coated finish and enhanced coatings. No-wax vinyl usually requires some maintenance while urethane provides more durability. Enhanced coating gives the advantage of the best protection from the elements.

testimonials

  • An appointment was made for Nick Taylor to visit our offices and give a quotation for the works which he did so in a professional and prompt manner. Not only was he on time and well presented, but he was also a nice bloke and very flexible with commencement dates. Pete arrived on the day and completed the works in an excellent format. He too was pleasant, friendly, and well-spoken and promoted the company image well. The works were completed with minimal fuss and disturbance and in only a few hours. All evidence that he had been here were gone when he left and we were left with an excellent all round job which we were extremely satisfied with. I would not hesitate to recommend Cotswold Edge Carpets for any flooring or carpeting works and hope their business continues to flourish.

  • Nick and the team at Cotswold Edge fitted carpets and vinyl to our new home over ten years ago and whilst they were guaranteed for only 7 years they looked as good as the day they were put down. Unfortunately, we suffered a water leak and had to replace the carpets. We had no thoughts of using another provider, as Nick and the team have a professional fitting service, quality workmanship and carpets that lasted well beyond what we expected. Highly recommended.
